Bonneville Online Elementary (K - 8^th Grades)

We are BOES! Together we create a unique, at home learning experience for your student/s. School where, when and how you decide. Once enrollment is completed, your family will be paired with a mentor teacher who will help you along the way. We offer flexibility, an individualized plan for each student with some accountability through state-required testing & progress monitoring through their respective program. Attendance is based on progress through their courses.

All instruction will take place in your home. Home, with you as the teacher, is where instruction and learning will take place. You will set the schedule, teach curriculum and provide instruction with the support of your mentor teacher. The parent’s/guardian’s responsibility is to select curriculum (with some suggestions from your mentor teacher), set-up a daily schedule, provide direct instruction, and reach out to your mentor teacher for help.  Parent/guardians are teachers. Depending on the age of the student, parents/guardians can expect to spend 2-5 hours per day with their child by monitoring and guiding them through the learning process. We offer unique classes in our facility once a week to support the learning that is happening at home. Many of our on-site activities can count toward some of the submissions for progress through their courses.

Mentor teachers at BOES are certified teachers that work with the families.  They can help you get started with your chosen curriculum, help plan students' daily schedule, brainstorm ideas to help if you student is struggling, monitor progress, and celebrate successes.  They are unable to deliver daily instruction.  Direct instruction is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.  Checking in and staying in communication with your mentor teacher will be key to making sure that your student is staying on pace. 

We offer two different choices for curriculum.  You can choose our online option (Accelerate), that provides daily lesson plans and a daily schedule.  Your other choice would look more like a traditional home-school option where you choose your own curriculum. We are here to help you learn more about these options. 

While there is a lot more flexibility with when you do your work, there are still requirements that need to be met to stay in compliance with District policy.
